T D Packaging System 80

TD Packaging add a PAGOsystem 80

TD Packaging in Swindon, part of the United Drug PLC, is well known in the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets. They have provided packaging solutions for the past decade and through their versatile machinery and 17 packaging lines can put custom pack designs into production for a wide variety of goods.
Since 1998 they have purchased labelling equipment from Pago Ltd in Colchester, that provide applications for self adhesive labels to vials, bottles and jars, applying wraparound, single or double sided, multi-peel or vignette labels.
TDPackaging have a number of PAGOsystem 100 machines and recently purchased a PAGOsystem 80 with afteroll. The 80 is to apply a single label to a range of containers at speeds of up to 80 per minute. The machine, designed and built in Colchester, is part of the comprehensive Pago range of inline labellers. TDPackaging have organised their production to fully utilise their machines in the most efficient way.
The machine base is robustly constructed, has an integral frame that provides the mounting for various auxillary modules. The machine includes pitching mechanism with adjustable speed to vary the pitch of the product. It will accommodate a variety of containers as the position of the roller is adjustable. The containers can be pitched prior to being orientated through the chain orientation unit. A top hold assembly is mounted above the conveyor, a pressure pad ensuring a constant clamping force that allows for slight variation in container heights.
The labelling head is a PAGOmat 3 series with a unwind unit with dancer brake arm, it is stepper motor driven using the unique electronics of Pago which offers consistent accuracy at high speeds.A unit support offers full adjustment to position the PAGOmat to match the containers, and an optical label gap sensor allows missing labels to be detected. The extended infeed conveyor assembly is a single belt conveyor driven by a separate drive motor with crowned rollers for easy belt tracking.
Andy Hodges, Engineering Manager at TDPackaging believes
“The Pago machines have proved themselves, they are reliable and can accommodate the variety of jobs needed by our customers.”
