Contract Packer

Leading contract packer invests in a PAGOsystem 80

Imagination and innovation is at the core of everything this leading manufacturer and contract packer deliver, from the design studio to the factory floor, fulfilling a growing demand for off the shelf products that can be fine-tuned and quickly bought to market with minimal research and development costs. Guided by market trends and influences they are continually adding to their library of products. They test their products by consulting customers resulting in fine tuning in formulation through to colour and  packaging. They recognise the needs of their customers  for constant product and packaging development.

As an outsourcing service they have invested in state of the art manufacturing and packaging facilities, helping their clients to react quickly to fast changing trends, reduce lead times and allow the manufacture of minimum order quantities. In order to achieve this they have invested in PAGO label applicators, designed and built in Colchester by Pago Ltd

They have taken delivery of their first PAGOsystem 80 to apply front, back and wraparound labels to a range of containers at speeds of up to 80 containers a minute. It has a substantial machine body, a robust aluminium extruded base frame with integral frame members that provide the mounting for various auxiliary modules. The single belt conveyor assembly 100mm wide running a 80 mm wide belt, with its own drive motor, is separated from the machine body to allow easy access for cleaning

The pitching mechanism orientates containers prior to entering the top hold and is usable as a product stop by switching off the unit. The chain mechanism is driven by 2 separate synchronised motors with the top hold assembly mounted above the conveyor pressure pad ensuring constant  clamping which allows for slight variations in container height, with an ability match the tilt and angle of label approach. The system 80 has 2 PAGOmat 3 labelling heads mounted on the front of the machine, label unwind unit with dancer brake arm, an ability to store up to 9 product set ups in the unit’s memory with web guide rollers using sealed bearings for an extended life. There is a mechanical label gap sensor to start PAGOmat labelling cycle, suitable for clear and solid labels, in a fixed position with no adjustment necessary.

Pago values this creative partnership where new concepts are designed from scratch with the attendant challenges for labelling when a broad range of products including colour cosmetics, fragrances, spas and wellbeing, skin care, hair care and bath and body products are produced.

The purchase of Pago machines has enabled them to deliver efficiency and accuracy for their customers. Pago machines are well engineered, reliable and flexible, a long term investment for any company
